PC sounds like a Jet Engine playing New World (SOLVED)
PAGE 5 TLDR SOLUTION: BLOW THE RIG OUT WITH COMPRESSED AIR. KILL THE DUST BUNNY'S. will necro this thread if the problem comes back. It's gone for now.

I've yet to encounter a game that has ever made my pc sound like a jet engine. As soon as the game starts my pc will rev up like a jet engine and blow hard on max, and then it will die down only to repeat this over and over constantly. My pc is constantly taking off like a 737 barelling down the runway while playing.

Bruh, I'm scared New World is going to melt my pc. Anyone else having a similar issue?

As soon as I press alt+f4 or exit the game through the menu my pc goes back to normal, instantly. normal = silent.

again, no other game I've ever played on this rig has done this. Not sure why it is. Any ideas?

System temps? Proper cooling / airflow? System clear of dust / pet hair etc?

Cap your FPS.

Get better cooling..high temps in your PC.

Not really the answer he needs… OP download msi afterburner and set your fan curve, limit your FPS, turn off any performance mode settings you may have on for the game

Is it a prebuilt? Did you build it yourself? Stock CPU fan? Proper airflow?

I got tired of my PC sounding like a SpaceX Delta Heavy taking off when rendering videos and playing heavy games so I just water-cooled my CPU and GPU.

Sound really like bad cooling.... my Pc is silent wile playing.... ^^

CPU 56c
GPU 70c

Mind sounds like a F-18, not the D but more like E model with a bad fuel feed.

OP, how old is your PC? If it is more than a few years old, it is quite likely that the thermal paste between your CPU and the fan unit has turned to powder. Reducing the amount of heat it can transfer tremendously.

If that is the case, and you are going to take the fan unit off anyway to apply new thermal past, might want to consider putting on a better fan kit. Does not have to be expensive.

I replaced my stock fan unit with an EVO Hyper 212 ($40 at the time), and man it runs cool now. That being said, your stock fan might be just fine too.

Do watch some videos on removing the fan unit from the CPU, just to be sure you don't make a critical mistake. And be sure to measure inside your case for fit if going for a new kit. :)

Good Luck!

Temps using HWMonitor

CPU cores

Max: 78 C
Min: 52 C

CPU usage:
60% average

GPU:
Max: 78
Min: 73

Build

I9 9900K
RTX 2070
32 GB Ram
1tb Samsung SSD

Case haf x
Coolant lots of case fans (all working). Liquid cooling cpu cooler.
cap your frames at 60 and lower all your settings if you're worried about your card overheating

I'll cap my frames.

Do we know what causes this jet engine reaction? Is it a known issue, or im special?

Your rig is fine, you have normal temp for this game. You forgot to add GPU load stat, kinda important. But ye, this game has a ♥♥♥♥ engine, which is not optimized properly. The jet sound comes from GPU, like you are mining bitcoin, cuz GPU load is 80-90%, as i said, ♥♥♥♥ optimization.

I'd follow all thee above advice prior to logging in again. Cards are dying, despite the white knights.

I'm actually running a similar build to you:

i9-9900x
2070RTX
64gb DDR4
1tb Samsung SSD
CoolerMaster HAF 932 Advanced

My temps stay around mid 40's for CPU and 60's for GPU while in New World running everything maxed at 4k capped at 60fps.
