Hit a Leveling Wall
I am sure this is probably just me, But I seem to have hit a leveling wall. To get from 1-10 leveling was almost too quick. 10-20 seemed about right, but after that leveling seems to have come almost to a halt. I am 37 now and I have done all the main quests including the first dungeon. I can't continue now till 40, I am Also up to level 4 in my faction but can't do the quest to level that up till 45ish. I have done town board quests and I am trying to find quests to level up. Some quest take so long to do for very little XP reward. Also trying to level by killing things or trade skills or gathering is completely worthless. Because the XP for those things is so low.

I am not sure what the answer is here or what else I could be doing to level. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Honestly I'm having trouble *not* leveling up (but I also want upstanding), just do town board quests (and abandon whatever quests aren't worth it so that you can see them immediately after getting those done), leveling up trade skills can greatly increase xp (bonus if you use gear that increases that trade skill's experience), side-quests (these also net a decent amount of gold), and of course invasions/corruption portals which net you a decent chunk.
I will say that's one thing I have not done is the Invasion portals. I would do them, I used to do the similar things in Destiny and Guild Wars 2. But anytime I am near one literally no one is there and I am pretty sure i can't solo those. So I just avoid them. If I saw people at the portals I would join in, those at least in other games can be really fun.

Grinding mobs can give you a good amount of azoth. When I'm saying a good amount, I mean like ~150 azoth per ~2 hours of mob grinding. You also have harvesting tools (that some kind person on this discussion board told me) which can give you a proc with 30% chance or so to get 1 azoth from harvesting. Otherwise, well. Work through your town board quests or grind mobs for 10 levels. Or like others already mentioned, portals etc. You could also look up some videos with grind spots. I heard there are servers out there with groups of 15 people grinding elites. Its not a thing on my server but maybe it is on yours. If so, you could try it out too. Or ask in chat if people join you. You should fill your group in no time once people hear about good leveling alternatives.

Issue im seeing is that mob XP is super weak, and the only other option is board activites, which can be OK xp but not that great.

Its not like there is any cool endgame waiting for you at 60 so im not caring how slow it takes. Game is problematic past the early game. We all knew it was going to be the case given their 180 on game design so close to launch.
It's not getting to cap so much as feeling cut off from being able to do stuff for multiple levels that I don't like. Plus I have reward gear given to me that I can't even wear till 40. I also bought Starmetal tools that I can't use till 39. That was my fault I didn't pay attention to the level requirement. That said, I got some good deals on them before the prices shot up. It's annoying that I feel cut off from stuff.

I was at Azoth cap for awhile (Why is there a cap anyway???) Now I'm down to 112 Azoth. Im not making it fast enough to be able to fast travel when needed. I think having a cap on Azoth is just a plain bad idea. It's like having a cap on gold or something. There just isn't a good reason for it.

I'm level 39 with the main quest left alone around lvl28 or so, my faction rep is still lvl2 as I haven't really been paying attention to level that. On the other hand I've been grinding materials, getting myself to Starmetal tools, crafting my butt out and that took me to this level. If you haven't started crafting, get into, there's a ton of XP in it.
I do alot of gathering. I haven't gotten much into trade skills yet. It seems like you need a ton a stuff even to make low level items with the trade skills. I did engineering to just over 50 so I could make Steel arrows, but that is my highest trade skill. That and Arcana to make some of the Green wisps. But the other ones I haven't played with too much.

I haven't seen that slow of a leveling curve TBH...

However you can go back to any town that you missed originally and start doing sidequests.

That should give you a good chunk of exp to work with.

If you want really fast EXP though, you want to roll with a portal group.

Yea I think because most of the stuff you can get from market or with playing friends etc players don't have to be really into crafting - I personally love this crafting system - but I think if you wanna prolong a bit yourself reaching lvl60 without endgame content or just enjoy a bit different aspect of playing/grinding rather than to kill thousands of boars to level up, crafting is a very good way to go. I enjoy getting lost in the forests for hours at a time returning home, crafting away everything and enjoying my own little milestones - this was when I got to steel tools, then crafted them for my mother (also playing) then slowly getting to starmetal tools. I'm sure I've leveled up at least 5 times just standing at one of the crafting desks :D

Everything gives XP so do what you want, Faction missions are good, you may not get faction rep, but you still get points and XP.
Town board missions are good for XP and for your town rep.
Every town has a bunch of side quests too. Travel around.
Crafting has xp
Even just exploring will get you XP
The best way to get XP though is PVP, if you are flagged for PVP everything you do gives more XP!

One thing I will give this game and its the thing that keeps me gathering. Sound Design!! I mean when you hit an Iron Node (or any metal node) and hear the clank of the Pickaxe and the echo it makes. It just feels good. Same with hitting the trees. As far as trade skills I'll probably get into it more once I can gather faster. I have a bunch of Starmetal tools that I can't use yet (need to be 39) but I got a good deal on them before the prices went threw the roof.

In every town there is a town board, with missions, kill x boars or what ever, those can help, there's also faction missions at your faction guy in each town as well.
I have been doing those. I am at my faction Rep max right now and as I mentioned I can't get the quest to level that up until 45ish. I mean I supposed I could do the quests just for XP but I can't earn any faction rep now till I complete that quest. Also I have been doing the Explore and Kill things town board quest I have like 13 open right now for different towns.

it just seems to me this game doesn't give you enough quests to naturally be able to go to the next thing. I hit the main story quest wall before I was 35. I can understand waiting 1 or 2 levels, but over 5 levels just to continue the story seems pretty steep. Same with leveling the faction. I can't get rep and now have to wait almost 10 levels before i can move up the faction board.
Those quests are less about rep and more about faction tokens and xp. The rep is there just to make sure you do a minimum but that's it.
There's also a ton of side quests in every area that help. I expect to hit 40 tonight.

off topic but speaking of Faction tokens. I was in tier 3 and I spent 8000 tokens on a hat. Most Items in tier 3 are fro around level 40. So I didn't pay attention and the Hat ended up being for level 60. Its only a Rare hat and its the only one in that tier at 60. It makes no Sense because later in the Tiers you can get that hat at epic for level 60.

Quite the opposite here. Almost 50 and havent done yet the quest to give me access to Starstone dungeon. Have only abused one town board to get to 30 rep to buy the big house. Rest of the time is running out doing quests and leveling crafting/gathering
