Housing Storage Chests and Thieves (?)

The tooltip for the "Hewn Log Storage Chest" says: ".. it won't keep out any thieves".

So I tried to check how this works and went into some homes with this storage chest. But I wasn't able to access their chest.

So is the tooltip wrong, and all chest are secure and no visitor can steal anything from me?

Or did I miss something?

If thieves are possible, which is the best secure "starter chest" to buy on the trade market?

dumb as idea, basically just a troll mechanism and has nothing to do with the actual game. And. pvp people. All ways putting down non pvp players. It is just insanity. also the game has what. about 30 days under it, and people crying about content. So the game being new, I am sure plenty of content in the next couple of years are planned. pvp is fun, however when you are new to the game all you hear is high levels telling you you wont be picked for wars, that's cool but the entire time you are a low level it is just gripes from pvp players about anything that happens. So if a part of that crowd avoids pvp, and you continue to flame non pvp people. well, ya wont grow ranks like that. also. Some just like fishing. Not me. But some people just craft.Not everything is pvp, and looting chest would just be insanity breading into the already toxic pvp gripes in chats that I personally never look at anymore and pretty much play alone. I was to low for war, still am im told at 41, they want 50 and 60. It has no effect on how much I enjoy the game however. I'll get to 50 and then sign up. Run in a pack but lol no partake in the pvp chat that happens. lol.

This would actually be a cool game mechanic. If you are PvP flagged you could steal items from opposing factions homes / chests...

This game needs reasons to PvP and just capturing a town isn't going to hold peoples interest for to long.

Of all of the ridiculous ideas I've heard to make players PvP who don't want to, this has to be the worst.

But they'd have a hard time balancing something like that since if chests aren't safe then people won't use them. But if they make chests that are safe from theft then everyone would use them and theft would not be possible.
