About houses, how does property tax work?
SO a house for 8k that I'm saving up for, (need to find good money making methods), Do I pay 5% of 8k, 10% of 8k or is their a base tax amount?

afaik. you pay the tax the governing company set up. so if you bought a 10k house you have to pay 1k every week if the tax is 10%

I think the house just becomes unactive

You lose the features, but can still enter and decorate.

Not paying the Tax results in being unable to use the fast travel/respawn point, losing the storage effects of your chests, as well as any buffing trophies.
The fast travel is huge, because the cooldown can be accelerated at a rate of 25 Azoth per hour, pro-rated for the time remaining.
Failing to pay tax does not remove your house. Taxes are paid by the player, so you can go away from the game for months without it eating your gold.
Furthermore, the first house you buy has half the price AND half the taxes.
