The sole purpose of these games is to make money. They need to sell things. Fair enough the items are not for sale yet but they are coming. To sell things there must be a demand.
To this end these companies will release a game that is fundamentally flawed in ways designed entirely to encourage players to spend cash.
They will not make anything in the game easier at the expense of profit from selling boosts later on. Not going to happen.
I'll tell you what happens if they do what you said aka increasing respawn or resource nodes. The same people who are gathering them all now, will just get more because they are faster, have more time and have optimal farming routes because that's exclusively what they are doing.
Wait a few weeks and players will start to migrate toward higher lvl territories, that will solve the problem.
My main gripe with it is that it is about as rare as silver and the spots near town are so few that everyone camps them.
The should you certainly make it less frustrating to get it.
If the game was PvP flag on at all times then getting iron would at least be more fun, since you could fight for your nodes
So there will always be stiff competition for Iron Ore even from lvl 40 and 50's getting that rare ores.
It will settle but for now been new..people going to mine like mad to get ore for crafting or sell ore on market..Everyone wants houses and territory and to pay for Town Upgrades..
the 'problem' is most players are still in the noob areas so all iron is mined there.
just wait for a week when players are more spread out and the 'problem' fixes itself.
The difference to other MMOs is that you dont need the low level ores all the way up to high level.
In WoW for example you start with copper. You craft copper armor. Then you go over to Bronze, you still need Copper and also Tin. Then comes Iron, and Copper is not necessary for you to gather anymore, as it is no longer (or barely) used.
Here, you start with Iron, and you will need Iron even at Max Level Crafting, simply because every Metal Bar builds up on each other.
