Try to read other similar post as well and maybe new world forum. or better yet wait until release and read the reviews then when the game is actually out and got reviewed by people who actually plays.
now regarding your questions
- Do you constantly "pull" mobs to start engagements?
No, some mobs are very aggressive that they start attacking you if they sees you, I got killed a few times when trying to read a quest and suddenly lots of mobs just ganked on me or when I am just trying to kill a boss and his followers just helps him. If it's me vs 2 or more mobs, I usually tend to run and kite them because fighting them head on is difficult because of my weapon choice.
- Is there a radar map?
There is no radar map or mini map, you have to open the map to see locations but there is a compass on top hud to show you the cardinal direction and mini-icons of specific locations or animals if you are close to them
- Are there quest markers (either on the radar or above npc heads, etc.)?
Since there is no radar I guess we use compass for this, there is marker in the compass if you track them, but they won't show up if you don't. But they also show up on NPC quest giver if you sees them.
but you can also hide the HUD completely, there will be nothing shown in the HUD then if you prefer.
Did you ever try the Horizons debacle?
That's how not to launch an mmorpg.
From my perspective I would feel a tendency to answer with: Yes
Not because there are any new features. It is simply refreshing to play NW because of the rearrangement of things.
I was not interested in NW at all as a PvP game. But after they changed it and I played it the first time I was surprised in the most positive way. It takes all the good Ideas from UO till TESO and tries to create a mix with the best compromise for all playstyles.
That, of course, will not meet everybodies taste, but no game does it. But it is an interesting alternative to WoW and Teso etc. just because it mixes the mechanics in a new and refreshing way.
There are many thing I would not have thought I will like. But in NW I do, in other games I did not.
Try it. Its worth a try.
