FF14 is your typical Asian mmo, albeit it does have good PvE aspects (unlike this game)
AoC tries to hard, but fails on many things.. still im0 better than this, but I dislike their handling of the game and how you gain access.
All in all..
For pvp you might as well find an old UO server, for PvE an old EQ server, for sandbox and old SWG server. That is my advice.
As an MMO it really did surprise me with how good it was and the only negatives are , as I say, subjective ones (whether the player in question likes tab targetting/heavy story arcs and cutscenes/aesthetic)
on FF!4, its got a great story, the 1st 50 lvls is a tad slow on story but it picks up real fast.
i dont play it anymore because i like having pvp, but its most DEFINITELY worth the time and money just for the story.
ive wasted plenty of time and money on that game and im happy that i did, not to shill or simp really but its very clear the devs and players reallycare for their game:D
if you can stomach the insane weeb style of FF, go ahead thats probably your second best option for eso now that WoW is dead
i really appreciate your feedbacks !
Doesnt own the game, hasnt played the beta but sure has a lot of opinions to provide on a game he doesnt like.
Relevance level of his post = 0
this is just completely false. it is extremely different to Asian MMOs, except the design of characters. The gameplay systems itself are full of things classic Western games and Western MMOs do on a regular basis, just optimized for PvE, story and crafting.
The crafting system is a copy paste from EverQuest 2 -- and that was my favorite crafting system ever in an MMO.
The combat is deep and varied, not hack and slash, reliant on positioning, combination and chaining of abilities and so on. Also similar to older Western MMOs and RPGs.
I don't like the anime look in games, but it's extremely well designed otherwise and there simply is no MMO out there that does what FFXIV does well, or even barely as good.
New World isn't an MMORPG. it's an more multiplayer version of Rust with less PvP. that's New World. if you like that, you'll have a blast. most won't.
it's made for streamers who have reliable friends and a policed server with only other streamers mostly, where the pure dog poop part of games like Rust or Arc never materializes.
What may save New World in the short run is the crafting system, which seems to be pretty awesome, and the gathering system that is simply the best in any MMO: you can pick up and gather ~everything.
The crafting of FFXIV is great, the gathering is horrible. New World seems to have the gathering nailed down.
that they plan to sell fast traveling for real money shows where this game is going: draw people in, then milk them with annoyance that can be skipped.
Amazon is an evil company and such corporations will never build anything inspired or sublime. they build a game to attract people through appealing to the lowest common denominator, not building a community and huge player base by attracting through excellence.
Then they milk that
I think FF14 has Asian vibe (in its looks, in its way of creating story, in its grinding, etc) I will agree that it is not like BDO and the sort.. It is not awful in that way or a "pay 2 win / full grind" style.. But FF14 is still very "Asian" in its take.. obviously.
Amazon is not Evil.. Evil does not exist.. Amazon is a lot of hard working people, that struggle to survive just like you and me. Do you have rich people that wants to keep being rich? yes.. ofc.. all companies have, all communities have.. it is how our societies function sadly.
maybe you should start talking about the actual topics instead of about the people posting on here just because youve never played a single ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ mmo before ?
the ad hominem attacks is one thing but theyre used in such a way that you look like 5 year olds
As for your experience in MMOs you only ever mention 3 meaning that yes, however long you played those, your experience is lacking
edit: i should add, you can have an opinion on something you didnt fully experienced, we all do this all the time irl. maybe he watched videos, maybe a friend of him played it, maybe he tried it at a friends home etc...
you just give your opinion on him without knowing him so...
