If their market strategy is all based on steam whislist, which is a feature many players don't care about or is easily forgotten, well, it does not make sense at all. I guess they did not put the NA or EU servers based on whishlist, they did based on region demographics and potential player base, well, whoever made the study deleted the data from Asia by mistake.
As much as I would have loved to play this game, Amazon has made it a no go for me, and for many other players in Asia.
Peace to all
That said, AGS should look into the number of refunded customers from SEA and factor that into their consideration as well. I am pretty sure a good number of them refunded due to the ping (action combat mmorpg with bad ping = dead in pvp). I am not sure why they have to rely on wishlist to gauge the interest level when there has already been so many threads, tweets and posts about it.
I have a feeling AGS is against a SEA server at this moment as they are worried what it would do to the population of the current Aussie server (which I feel would do well on its own, even without the asian crowd, but I don't have the same access to data they do).
Hopefully, they will add in a SEA server before launch, or at least allow for server transfer when they eventually do (if there are still SEA players playing then).
when launch game not have sea server we refund this game.
In the next wave of new markets, we’re about to launch a new region in Spain. We’re about to launch a new region in the Asia Pacific, in Jakarta, Indonesia. This is a great beginning. We’re excited to help New World scale and launch globally when they’re ready. We’re excited to use this as a proof case for any other game developer in the world to do the same thing.

Some of them might still play in Aussie regardless, because I am sure they will still have similar ping to Indonesia anyway...
