Heh, not gonna lie, laughing so hard right now. Claiming as good as DAoC? I now know, you never played it, and if you want DAoC, it's still running you know...

I did play; Laraeli 50 Elf Ranger on Gawaine.
I don't know about this, from what I understand the endgame is a bit dull so wait until 3 months after release when people have leveled up and check how popular it will be.

And how much did ya actually play? Since if you're thinking this games anything like DAoC, you're crazy. DAoC has no quests, end game was strictly PVP with some feather farming in PvE etc etc. New World has none of the mechanics that DAoC has, not even close to them. Even the 3 factions is different them how DAoC does them.

New World looks better, I can give it that. But don't confuse 3 factions as DAoC, please... No other similarities. And DAoC was great back then, but now it's... meh..

But now DAoC is... old :P And Chamelot Unchained will most likely never happen :( But as you say, there is nothing alike with DAoC and New world.

I never said it was alike. I said it brings back the same emotions. There's a sense of discovery and exploration that I enjoy in both games. Back when I first started playing Dark Age and now while playing Beta for NW.

Also, no need for name calling or calling people crazy just because they have a different opinion than you.

Interesting... My group has to look at the map most times to see what zone we were really in since all looked the same. Glad you enjoyed it at least, kinda curious what there was to discover though.

Definitely hard to explain why, but the game just seems very compelling to me. The sense of discovery can be more than just geographical exploration. I think they do a good job with the crafting system, the way quests lead you to new towns, the goal of controlling towns and regions, etc. Maybe its also the competitiveness of the markets and resources.

This game has laid the foundation for becoming an amazing game. Maybe that's the biggest reason why I want to play and support it.
EQ, DAoC, Elite, Exile, New World.

- The butes.

No minimap, no story/lore, can't swim, no mounts, missing simplistic repetitive PVE content, 3 active skill spam combat system, etc... Yup best MMO since sliced bread. LooL.
No minimap is damn good imo.

Moar real

Says a pubG player. A game which has the WORST clunky combat in any shooter except those that released on Gameboy Advance.

Ahh, basically you're going through a fad stage then. The crafting is simplified, and easy, yet aggravating unless get a lot of luck gear to get the materials, that's a fact.

Quests are the same, each time. Kill this, collect that, come back. At times the collect is just opening a supply chest.

Controlling towns are broken, since no way to counter your own faction being idiots and taking advantage of you.

I tanked the markets by just listing easy to craft items, thus resulting in others forced to sell their items for 25 or less to even sell.

And, no foundation, once break down what you listed. I have it, got the deluxe. But I'm not seeing this discovery, you are mentioning and waiting to see what live brings. Maybe you've not been exposed to the plethora of other MMO's out there to really compare as a possibility.

I'd love recommendations of games that excels in every category you listed :)

Final Fantasy 14 wins hands down in crafting. Can farm and create gear, furniture, etc etc to near raid levels.

FF14, WoW, Rift... even SWTOR... many many more for questing.

GW2, ESO, WoW, Rift, etc etc... basically the majority of other MMO's have far larger and more in depth worlds and zones.

EvE, DAoC, and the like win in Player vs Player conflict. Heck, even Albion since went F2P.

Combat wise, if wanna compare to games similar I'd say Tera of all things. The animations are not only smoother, but combat flows better as well. Then there's BDO, Blade and Soul...
