I'm only level 25 now and the relationship between the forts and the settlements is one I'm still trying to figure out as it appears that you fight over the fort, and then control the settlement (it's clear I haven't personally taken part in the RvR yet), but control of the forts, assigning specific NPCs as guards, etc, is something I've built a set of expectations for....not wise, but I'm open minded at the same time.
So far leveling, crafting, etc is good...BUT>>>>>NOT seeing any crafting for siege equipment has me sort of scratching my head...but I guess I'll figure that out as I begin participating in the RvR....
Apparently you need some, asap.
Not even comparable by a long shot.
I think it will be forgotten before the first year have passed tbh. But that is because of the target audience its tring to cater to.
Truth hurts, bruddha.
What truth? The i don't own the game truth?
Progressive and ban happy eh.. All i feel are shivers sister..
Played for 12 hours, requested a refund, refund received within a day (thanks Steam). Not even comparable to DAoC. Move along.
And politics are why you refunded ? Assuming you know what progressive looks like.
New World is a game @ €39,99.. Not exactly the end of the world. Relax.
Never alluded to it being the end of the world, don't be hyperbolic.
The RvR system does not even come close to DaoC. In New World the forts in each territory really serve two purposes for pvp.
The first is the open world fort itself that is a point that faction can capture for faction wide bonuses. The amount of people able participate in these open world fort battles is capped to 20 or 25 people per faction. If a faction is at the cap any additional faction members coming into the designated area are ported back to a settlement.
The second purpose of forts is the actual Wars. You can declare war by pushing a territory into conflict. For the most part this consist of grinding pvp faction missions to push the conflict bar, If im not mistaken holding the open world fort also buffs the gains for each turn in. When you successfully push the territory into conflict your company can declare war. The Wars are 50v50, take place at a set time and last 30 minutes. They are basically a glorified battleground where you fight over control points. The company that currently controls the settlement has 100% control over what 50 players are selected to participate in the war, the same goes for the attacking company. Anyone can sign up but the companies decide who is selected.
The company that owns the territory/settlement can upgrade the fort through town projects.
Invasions also take place at the fort, again it’s instanced.
Wars will not happen nearly enough or I should say not enough to be a main draw for pvp focused players. They are not large scale epic battles, they are a battleground that consist of capturing or defending points. I could log into gw2, eso, daoc or ror right now and participate in large scale siege warfare... it’s available 24/7. The large scale pvp or wars in new world do not even support a full guild participating and the open world fights have even lower caps..
Hope that helps, very disappointing imho.
You're darn right! I did because you are :s.. How is it that everything people say often reflect on themselves. Very curious..
Honestly i would consider a negative opinion if they weren't feeling so biased or filled with bs, frustration and contempt all of the time..
"Target audience" wtf..
