If I think ESO combat is boring and lightweight, will I like New World combat?
I like action style combat, but have seen some comparisons to ESO. I really don't like combat in ESO as it feels weightless and hitting enemies feels like hitting butter (i.e. no reaction). Not impactful at all. Plus in ESO I find myself using basically the same skill or two over and over since they outdamage everything else I have access to. Lastly, ESO combat feels super easy/simple in that I stand there, spam a couple of abilities over and over until the enemy dies.

With that said, in regards to combat only, how does New World compare? Do you get a good sense of weapon impact when you hit stuff? Do NPC's feel like they react based on how/where they were hit?

I'm tempted to try out New World when it releases (just missed the beta apparently), but the combat being compared to ESO has me worried I just won't enjoy it.

Thoughts?

Is your every opponent a boss? Or still 99% of all opponents are just normal monsters? Technically you're right in 1% of time.
are you saying that all you do in mmos is killing trash mobs and never raid ?
Im saying 99% of time you no need brain to kill monsters and you can click them to death. Actually no, i saying best tactic here is just click them all to death and its work for 99% of monsters. Portals? Mouse clickin or mouse clickin + heal youself. lvl60+ quests about *kill some monsters*? Same. Dungeons? Some bosses can still be clicked to death.
The question starter's topic here is is this combat system better than eso? No, why would it? In ESO, you should at least use more abilities, or combinations of abilities.
You know, a year ago, when a group of monsters can lock you in a permanent stagger, and you had to dodge or block by timing, reacting to enemy attacks, I would agree that the combat system of the New world is better. But now...

No he's saying 99% of the time you are killing trash mobs. And he is accurate I'd say.
2-3 mobs in a dungeon are bosses with mechanics the rest you just swing on, sure you can throw some abilities but you don't NEED to, of course you will though who likes being slow or inefficient?
Some mechanics hurt some mechanics if you're the correct level of the dungeon you can just swing on and ignore everything else.
if only there was any truth in this message at all, farming keys wouldve been even so much quicker

but you never played a single veteran raid or vetteran dlc dungeon hardmodes so your opinion is null

You can doubt me all you want, but that isn't going to change my experience of ESO. In ESO I'm playing a shield/one-handed character. There's not really any dot/aoe abilities for me. I have one good skill that outdamages everything else and I can spam it over and over again. In the time it would take me to cast/use another ability to apply a dot or something I could simply spam the other skill again (sometimes twice!) and outdamage everything else.

Yes, really. The experience I've had in ESO is literally the experience I've had in ESO. Pretty sure I'm the expert on my own experience, not you.

No, I have not played a veteran dungeon. I didn't play the game for tons of hours just to get to the interesting parts of the game that you claim exist. That just sheds more light on how ESO combat is boring if it only becomes fun at the very end game/highest levels.

I've been playing ESO on and off since the launch of the game on xbox one. I tried PVP several times, but there was usually almost nobody in the PVP zone. I gave up on PVP in ESO a couple of years ago and just stuck with the PvE content as a result.

So back to my original question, is New World combat any better than ESO? Or maybe you'd both rather just continue to defend ESO rather than answer the question?
so youre playing a tank and youre making a judgement based on combat, youre not even debuffing, buffing or stacking the enemies as a tank if youre using only 2 abilities.

yes, its obvious that youre a liar

I don't need to buff or debuff, because in the time it would take me to cast one of those skills I can use my damage skill which outdamages any benefit a buff/debuff would have.

It's outrageous you are trying to argue this with me. It does not at all help answer my original question and is just making you look like a tool trying to defend ESO for no reason. Maybe you feel like I'm attacking your pride by saying something that could be negative about ESO? Is your identity based on what games you play and so you feel personally attacked? Like WTF. lol

Have you played a shield/one-handed character in ESO?

Unless it's serious PvP or a dungeon/raid the combat in ESO is hideously boring, just like in every other MMORPG ever in existence. It's actually impossible to be bad at it.

How am I bad at combat in ESO? Like I said, I can use basically 1 or two skills the entire time and outdamage any other skills. Is that my fault? Or is that the game's fault?

How about you tell me what skill rotation is the best for a one-handed/shield class in ESO if you think you know so much about it?

I can tell you've never mained Tank and had to survive a boss fight while trying to res the other 3 members of your team. I have. =)

It's very possible to be bad at it. Example: Only using 2 skills.

because you dont even understand your role as a tank, you play tank and make a judgement of its combat system, it makes no sense dude

Do you understand what you are implying here? You are saying ESO combat isn't boring because of "insert end game content here".

So what about the 99% of the rest of the game? Just going to ignore that?

What role does a tank play in ESO when almost everything can be solo'd with relative ease? I'm not playing a tank, I'm playing a warrior.

playing at least a raid on veteran or a dungeon hardmode is not the endgame, theres far more difficult challenges in this game.
HarshHash 4/ago./2021 às 12:06
The funniest thing about this thread is this guy came here asking if he would like this game. gets blasted by some autistic european dude for his choices in some other game and is more then likely turned off from this game.
