House property tax is insane
property tax need to cut down to half or even more. pay 2k gold every week for 20k house is ridiculous, especially when people start have 2 or 3 houses. I know there is standing perk can lower property tax, but still too much for every week.

I believe this is actually set by owning company of that area, which most have left at 10% during the betas so far.

This amount may be offset by your territorial standing perks, for which one of them is decreasing property tax.

Guess you should only buy a 5k or 7.5k house until you can afford the taxes...

Yeah the perks help but still, some set all taxes to extreme including housing tax. Which is kind of a put off if you like the area. And abandoning a house give you none of your gold back and you lose that first time buyer discount.

There shouldnt even be a tax. You already bought the house, this isn't real life sim. Might as well add some utility bills while we are at it

That's not wrong though. 10% every week seems like a lot of investment. How many board quests do you have to do to make that? It's going to suck if playing feels more like a job just to pay tax.

It’s for buffs. You need 3 to craft max lvl gear. 600 on gear isn’t the cap. I think it’s 625. There’s an achievement for it.

True. But one of the key feature of the game is about FvF and territorial management, which I can think of multiple ways in which the economy can be affected depending on which tangents of those I tend towards.

There is also the consideration for adding storage chests in the house, for which I think I read somewhere that there is up to 4.5k additional units of storage space from them.

I mean 3 houses and all 3 have the crafting trophy. Say you wonna do some jewellery. Go to all 3 of your houses and put up the jewellery trophy, drink the potions and food stuff to give you the boosts then craft your jewellery. At T5 trophies and T5 buffs you will craft max level jewellery, higher than what drops in OW as long as you have the blueprint.

Yeah its an interesting mechanic and I believe its actually to make sure you log in once a week once you have invested that 5-25k in gold x 3 houses, just to pay the taxes. It also means you are going to have to invest in the local town as well, so you can get those tax breaks on home ownership. The biggest advantage I saw wasn't just the recall home, but storage. the bigger house allows more storage, but you are still limited to 4 chests for a 10k house, I got a cheaper one this latest beta, but didn't have time to craft chests to see the limits of how many i could place, but i did notice i had a limit on how many lamps i could place. I think this is probably the hidden cost of a cheaper place.. lower taxes, but less items you can place in your home. Also you need to be at least lvl 30 standing with the land area to buy some of the better places, even though you can buy a home from lvl 10. For me storage is always the issue, especially when you are feeding those upgrades on the city board or crafting for market sales.

After purchase you have 7 days (you can pay in 5) until you have to pay the tax. in the closed beta i managed to cut that tax down by about 40% of what it started. I would hope that you can continue to gain standing endlessly, that there isn't a limit like "50" and that will eventually cut your costs on everything over time (so you invest locally). I think the worst way you can spend these points is "more xp" in the area, considering the limit is lvl 60, this is going to be pointless. faster harvesting, lower costs for trading and crafting, are better investments. over long term the problems I see is how much you can Store, how much you can carry, and how much you are taxed on the market place. Its not going to be a problem if you can make the money to pay the bills.

I actually prefer this to what they do in Gloria Victis , where they rot your food and food crafting in about 3 days.. don't log in for 3 days, and you come back to a pile of rot. if they start rotting food in this game, I won't be happy, considering how its quite difficult to find and source cooking components from across the map.
