98% gpu
i have a 1080 game in 2k with very high graphics settings and i see gpu at 98% and cpu at 80-90%. The fans are always at full speed is this normal? could it be a problem for the integrity of the gpu?
If I set normal graphics, nothing changes even the FPS

as long as the temp is ok no worries. during gaming the gpu shouldnt reach 80. If your temp is 80 or higher then you have a problem on cooling but if not then its ok. The 98% is just indicating that your GPU is working at its full but as long as your temp is not 80 or more you are ok

Temperatures shouldn't be too much of a worry as Nvidia GPUs since Kepler (2012) have built in thermal throttling that down clocks the GPU if it gets anywhere near the upper thermal limit, which is usually considerably less than a temperature that would actually damage the card.

The main thing to watch out for is that your power supply can handle the power draw when the card is under full load. For a 1080 you would need at least a 500W power supply to be safe.

People say its bad optimized.

88 C is to high for regular everyday use. 100 C is when water turns into steam.
I would lower the power limit using MSI afterburner, to try to achieve low 70 C temperatures.

nothing wrong with card running at 98%, means the game is pushing your card as it should , temps can be lowered by getting better cooling / cleaning out your pc , blowing out all the dust from fans that accumulates over time.

You paid for a GPU and CPU that can use 100%. Be glad. 😉

A 1080 is getting up in age, I would take it apart clean it and replace the thermal paste.

Soon we'll see one more brick, I suppose. Limit your FPS and power limit. :FireStrike:

you can also limit fps by syncing with monitor refresh rate, also, for me, i lowered lighting to low, and shadows. and still looks great, but runs really smooth

I had 60 C, playing on Max settings FHD | 60 fps on 1070 ti, but it has undervolting -100 and decent cooling.

But the power draw inconsistencies were too strange to continue. The game behaves like psycho-benchmark. Play at your own risk.

It's poorly optimised, it revs your cpu & gpu while waiting to play.

These are consumer components. If you want 100% 24/7 you need to pay the extra for server components.
