Am I doing it "wrong" with Ice Gauntlet and Warhammer?
I love how much control I have over the battle with this combo. between knockbacks, stuns, staggers, roots, slows, etc. I can keep the other person from landing much of any damage on me.

Problem is once I fire all my abilities I seem to struggle a bit in PvP. PvE is trivial, hardly a challenge ever. But PvP I'm either out damaged at range, or out damaged close up if I miss my abilities much at all.

As for attributes I'm splitting evenly across INT, CON and STR, currently low 20s for level and about 50+ for each of the three stats.

Big question: Is this split just not viable? Is it better to just focus on 2 stats, primary damage stat + CON?

Other info, I'm running heavy armor, about level 9 on each weapon, Full Crowd Crusher line on Hammer, split on Ice gauntlet in order to have Ice storm, Ice shower, and still figuring out what I want for 3rd Ice ability (the defensive pillar, and pylon both seems weak to me)

Your problems seems to be quantity over quality versus Specialization, you are very good at what you do but it is still very split, you have high control but also high cooldowns and no real answer to builds that focus on a certain strength that can, and will overpower you. You havent done anything wrong, its moreso that others simply specialize and go along with what works rather than experimenting. As such you are at a disadvantage once you cannot be "more than them" anymore, like when your abilites are on cooldown. From my very limited experience in PvP it seems that if you're not the best at what you bring, all geared towards it, you are obviously and strongly at a disadvantage. So I suggest you learn how to maximise your damage output by learning cooldowns and hitting your abilities and/or switching to something more reliable.

Sounds like a mobility issue imo, though I could be wrong since I'm not a fanatic PvP min-maxer. I'm also naive on the game systems since I wanted the game to feel "new", so keep that in mind.

War hammer is slow enough where the opponent can get multiple hits with a faster weapon.

If you're under level 20 maybe try out war hammer and flame staff? I only suggest this because the fire staff gives you some aoe with mobility - Burn out says it's a dash, but idk how far. You've also got the passive Combat Speed for 5s of 10.0% haste on using a fire staff ability, DOT effects, Trial by Fire for a 4m wide 10s AOE DOT when hit, and incinerate which you can make hit twice when fully upgraded. You can also upgrade flamethrower so it has no cooldown.

Edit: But then that might mean juggernaut making more sense than crowd crusher, not sure tbh.
Of course all this needs to be put into actual practice.

Warhammer just isnt worth in solo pvp, incredible group disruption in a semi-tank build works wonders but just lacks the damage/speed for solo play.

This is about where you want to be for ice gaunt in pvp, food hot pre block and ur topped

I'm not sure where Entombed really sits. It doesn't seem to hit all that hard or control the field much, why take that over wind chill? I see it mostly as a reactionary skill when something is about to hit. Windchill keeps enemies away and does a good amount of damage?

as for mobility, I'm taking Ice gauntlet's block perk and Hammers block perk thinking I don't need to be super mobile. If they back off I go ranged

Basically, the question: Is it viable to run a build that splits stats such as INT/STR/CON or is it best to just focus on two?
