love how enemies regain all health when they retreat
gotta love how bad this game is where you will literally be fighting an enemy right where it spawns, then half way its dead it retreats 2 steps and regains all its health. great game design honestly, more games need to implement this amazing feature. bravo amazon.

They only retreat when you drag them too far away from their instancing area. Don't run like a scared little girl and stay in the fight.

So many 10 year olds who haven't learned to read yet, what is our education system coming to?
As a matter of fact, for the people who CAN read, particularly the defender skellies, with no legs seem to be easy to confuse, so you can literally be less than two [of their] body lengths from their spawn and they tether while you are fighting without moving. I've mostly seen it on those tower things where you go up stairs and there's a square around the tower with some various baddies. Despite the fact they can leap 40' and gnaw on your head, if you take a step FORWARD suddenly they go into retreat mode.

That's an actual bug op. What you can do is to report it on New World forum and it will be potentially fixed.

I've played 18 hours and this has happened once or twice. Nowhere near half the enemies I fight. Usually it was because they were actually trying to fight someone else, and I interrupted.

obviously im exaggerating a little bit its probably more like one out of 5 enemies which is still an insane amount and just not fun. sometimes it will say they retreated and all they did was turn the other direction and regained there health, like this game is actually garbage.
just fought an enemy and he literally retreated twice by moving 2 steps, wow this game is actually horrible.

yea it makes ranged combat vitrually pointless because if you step back you lose all of you stamina in two leaps and the enemy is still on your face. even worse how dodging is only effective if you wait for it patiently because of how dalayed is attAcking animations

speaking of attacking animations and combat in general i love how bad the hit detection in general is, whether your using a musket and its dead on the enemy or a spear a good chunk of your attacks will miss despite clearly hitting them. the hitboxes/hit detection need a serious fix.

Not necessarily, had a mob on a tower i was fighting spawn in and i attacked him a few times and he never moved and neither did i and he did the whole retreating/instant heal/invulnerable bs
