IIRC there is no official controller support. It's also an MMO and a controller isn't exactly optimal for that.

Actually controllers work perfectly find for mmos. They have a few that are on pc and console and New World is one of those mmo that doesn't even need many buttons because only 3 skills can be used at once. My controller works, there is just no mapping for it that I saw so only a few things work, like moving and basic attack, crouching and guarding.
