Be careful reserving your character name all!

I've read many posts about how people are going to login earlier than their time in their region ( On EU servers 8 hours earlier than the US ) to create characters and reserve their names. Then delete the characters and create new ones in their area so they can use the reserved name.

Be aware that all you're perks from deluxe etc is ONLY collectable on your FIRST character. So it's a trade off between if you want your name or the perks? I personally paid the extra $10 for the deluxe so I want the perks. name doesn't matter much.

This is misinformation. Names in New World are globally unique, but the perks are account wide.

FYI what you are saying is factually incorrect. It is all account bound. This has been stated by the DEVS.

Also Be aware - you do not actually have to wait in queue to reserve your name. you will not hit the queue or the EU player server until after Character Creation. So at that point you can exit New World and wait for your chosen server to come up and then go back and delete the character on The EU side to then recreate on your chosen server.

That Character Name will be locked to your account for you to be used for at a minimum a short time up to a possible 90 days.

Edit: Company Names: You will have to play to faction choice to secure your Company name of choice - so for you you will have to slog through it all.
AND be aware that once you delete that toon on EU that Company name will be immediately available to anyone.

So my advice will be to make 2 toons on EU.. One with your Chosen name that you hold until servers come up.. And one with an alternate name you do not care about..

That way you can take you chosen name to Faction on the chosen Server to Faction choice.. Log out.. go over to EU and delete that 2nd alternate character then immediately log back into your Main Character on your chosen Server to claim your chosen Company name..

Alternately you can have a 2nd person already to faction on the Chosen Server to be ready to claim the name before you delete that alternate character on EU
