New World, Easy Anti Cheat

Hi All

Not came across this application before for an mmo, I mainly play mmo's or single player games, so just checking as I want to pre-order the game, so does anyone know if Easy Anti Cheat will have full root access to your pc, ie access to everything on your pc, files, applications, services, drivers, internet history, hardware, or does it run at the application level only.

I am not bothered about general anti cheat software whether its built into the game, server side, or application level, but I am very wary of a 3rd party software that has its own EULA and runs with root level access, because if it gets exploited that means the exploiter can gain total control of your pc and all your data, and due to the EULA agreement EAC will not be responsible, I know its what ifs, but there is no problem in being security conscious instead of blindly clicking yes :)

Most modern anti cheats have access to your memory, CPU and a variety of system information such as a variety of hardware addresses (mac addresses), your IP address, your user account information (username for both windows and gameplatform), etc. to unequivocally identify you in case of a ban. One one hand, they come along with generic data protection rules that limit the use of such data. The practice of those data protection rules from the provider is another story on the other hand...

Easy Anti Cheat is FAIRLY un-invasive compared to say battle eye or riots new monster of a root kit.
Actually EAC is well known for being rather easy to manipulate and get around in the cheating industry.
It is 90% memory checks, partial drive access and some other simple injection point location blacklist techniques.
Easy Anti Cheat has always felt like an anti cheat that you use in conjunction with something else to fully utilise it.

I know that some companies are using EAC on top of something like battle eye which creates a very annoying and difficult penetration process for hackers and cheaters.

Easy Anti Cheat (EAC) is clearly the best anti cheat program on market. YOU CANNOT PLAY ANYMORE the game you purchased. If you cannot play, you cannot cheat.

About New World. Installed the alpha. EAC stop the game at lauch. In short i cannot play the game because I cannot lauch the game. I tried since 4 hours to solve the problem. As a customers, it s not to me to take some actions for to play a game i ve purchased (or i would like to purchase) because a third party progran block the access to the game. I m following the NO EAC curator on Steam. Steam, you lost 1 more customer because this stupid third party program. I'll never buy a game whit EAC. And no, i m not a cheater, just a player. Stupdiest idea to add EAC to multiplayer game on Steam.

I was interested by New world, but i ll certainley not buy from Steam, because EAC. I'll wait patiently the release and if the Amazon version is free of EAC, I'll buy. But if the Amazon version has also EAC, it will be a big No for me.

This error indicates that EAC (Easy Anti-Cheat) wasn’t installed correctly during the game installation process. You just need to reinstall it (or install if it’s not installed at all). This is what you need to do to repair the problem:

The Easy Anti-Cheat service is typically installed automatically with each game, and uninstalled automatically when the last game using Easy Anti-Cheat is removed from your system.

You can also install the service manually. To do so navigate to the "EasyAntiCheat" folder inside of the game's installation folder and locate "EasyAntiCheat_Setup.exe". Launch it as administrator and

Choose 'Install' if it’s not installed yet.

Battleye beats EAC any day of the week you clearly don't know enough about anticheat to state which is the best, i've played with all of them extensively and Battleye doesn't just reduce the number of cheaters, it stops them entirely from selling it, no other anticheat does that.

i cant play the game anymore, i tried using the easy anticheat setup in the games folder but its not working still.

First error that pops up: Unrecoverable Error. Steam must be running to play this game. Make sure you are logged into Steam, they try again.

Second Error: Easy Anti-Cheat. Untrusted system file C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamclient64.dll

Tried reinstalling Steam and New world but no go. Tried the anti-cheat setup fix and no go.
Hopefully because many people are having this issue they will fix this ASAP.

Though my friend who also plays is reporting no issues on his end. So I don't know.

eac comes in a lot of games. not my fav, but it has never caused me any problems
