How to take new cars?

Do i have to cannibalize the one i have for parts?

When I discovered new car I sit in it and press return home button. I think that game somehow know that you discover new car and teleport both cars to home. Unfortunately I have no idea how this mechanic works.

When I discovered my own "C0-BR4" I just had a hood nearby and I installed it and sat in the car once. Since it was in the middle of the nowhere I decided to just leave it there. Next thing is I died out of hunger and got teleported home. I lost big chunk of my health but all my stuff was neatly stored in a blue container, the car was parked as it is in the beginning and that little jeep was also parked next to the three starter cars. It is kind of sad that jeep has little use since it has awful storage. Guess it is meant for just having a bit of fun and driving around the starting base, when You are having too much money.

When I found the Jeep, I just got in, I collected everything I found, I completely emptied everything I had on me (This is very important) and I hit escape then "End trip", normally the two cars return to the parking lot and everything inside will end up in the Blue box next to the house.
