Taming a dog?? Fertiliser?

Has anyone figured these out yet?

I'd love a dog but can't seem to figure out how to tame them?

Also fertiliser?? Can't figure that out either!

I found a mysterious NPC randomly wondering my island once. He had stuff to bait croc and some other animals. My guess is that you have to be lucky and get an item from him to tame them.

I tried putting a diggo in a small pen and fed it everyday, but it doesn't seem to care.


For fertilizer. Make a large fenced off area and capture a bunch of roos. Wait until they poo and use it in the fertilizer bin. I can't quite remember when I got the bin, maybe second level farming?

Teasure Chests in the mines drop a rare 'Dog Collar' that can be used to tame dogs.

Yeah I know about Ted Selly and everything he sells and buys.

I've plenty of poo from my pleeps and vombats! I had no clue about the fertiliser bin, so thank you!
I'll keep my eye out.

And as others have answered the collar for dog can be found in the mines.

Compost bins are earned from level 10 Farming. 4 Roo Poo, or 2 Vombat Poo are required to create 1 Fertilizer.

The compost bin can also take sea shells and bones if you have extra. 25 for some shells, 15 for others, 8 for bones. If you use the machine manual that John sells on a lot of your contraptions it will tell you what the machine accepts and what it produces.

I haven't exactly tamed the dogs, but I built my village next to one of their dens and they like to hang out in the town and I pretend we are friends and stuff :).

They always bug out for me when I use shells. They just never open backup, no matter how many days I wait. If I restart the gam it's fixed.

Same here. Though I suspect they're largely hoping one of my animals will escape....
