Yes you can play offline.
The loot and combat is almost entirely lifted from traditional Way of the Samurai so your main stat is your sword, which is a combination of Attack, Durability, and a moveset. Better swords can stand more upgrades to the two stats, and each moveset can have different moves on all the various command buttons, but the moveset is tied to the sword itself. All this is familiar to you if you have played WotS4. Now a large chunk of the game is the overworld interactions of trying to spark a war without getting too much attention drawn to you and hawking swords to keep that war going, so that's traditional WotS experimenting with what you can do to NPCs up to the limits of what you can get away with.
You cannot dual wield.
You can dress your mans up with accessories but are limited on slots since the accessories all have gameplay effects. The customization is way less than other WotS games.
Barring model swap in the post game, you cannot be a gorl.
ur sword have lv max at 50 lvling ur sword learn new move
u cant dual wield
u can dress up ur man
u can swap ur man for girl character in the game and play as a girl in post game
play time can be pretty long if u wwant to collect all sword recipe or discovery hidden secret
-9 different moveset (two of them are barehand and bow, ehh).
-Moveset differs per sword but.. you know how some of them are minor difference while some are more unique, like in Wots4 right? So sword hunting like in the 1/2/3 is more appropriate. There is no create your own style here.
-No dual wield, personally, I am fine with that since I prefer wots2 dual wield, but yeah, none.
-You need to learn moveset per sword but it carries over for similar sword; which can get time consuming. (ex. if you learn all moves of sword A, the next sword A comes fully mastered)
-There is costumes (26 of them I think) + accessories (this time more limited positioning, 3/4 positioning)
-per WotS tradition, you can, eventually, use different model for your hero. Takes time however. Perhaps a bit late depending how fast you finish the story.
-That's how you get girl model as the main hero.
-There is more story and gameplay than just "pay the debt". Still, kind of slow start.
-It's more roguelite mystery dungeon - is that the genre? I know Shiren the Wanderer but I never play that series - in Wots (but more comedic than serious) setting and with combat gameplay (swordplay).
