I just beat the game with a corrupted weapon of +11. I had assumed (for absolutely no reason) that the shadow things on the map popped up to show the location of them regardless on if I had killed them already or not (I killed those 11 before I got the corrupted weapon). I counted 12 I believed and figured I missed 1 and didn't think it was worth figuring out which one.

Now that I beat the game, I decided to go to one and of course one spawned. I noticed it disappeared from the map after I killed it. Went to a 2nd one and saw the same thing. I could have had a much stronger weapon for the boss lol.

Oh well, at least I was able to beat the game on Action Girl without letting anyone die on my first run.

Nice that you have managed to beat it on Action Girl without anybody dying! Good luck on your second run! I believe the Corrupted Axe can be maximally upgraded to 36?

I must have missed one then because my Blade is at +35. I do wish the timer would stop for everyone after beating the game lol. I switched to Explorer Mode after beating the game so that I could farm the Dust to see what everyone gives at 4 hearts. Not sure if I'll do New Game Plus or New Game Extra first. I think the only benefit (besides more challenge) for New Game Extra is that achievement tied to it?

You can't, which is why I waited until I beat the game. You can however select the difficulty again when moving to New Game Plus or Extra.

New Game Extra has no achievements tied specifically to it. Though it does help with sequence shatterer, and likely reverse boss order. Extra is just regular new game but instead of having to load an older save and write down a bunch of blueprints, they give you a nice handful. As well as some blueprints for things that you can't find in the game.
