Well, this game *was* fun...

Seriously, the crypt has to be one of the worst levels I've ever seen in a videogame. First a series of ridiculous block puzzles that outright require a guide to solve because they're so over-the-top, and then a boss that I've just been banging my head against for two hours now, with my save probably screwed from all of the resources I've lost trying. Was this playtested, like, at all?

I feel like this post may have been made with a bit of anger. If so, i would suggest taking a break and coming back later to have a clearer view of the situation.

I mean, they are difficult, but they certainly don't require a guide (or trial and error) to solve.

I could give you some advice, if you want. Aside from that, i do agree that the difficulty curve is very steep at this point.

I don't know that advice will help anymore, unfortunately; I had one run get close, but that required blowing literally *every* resource I had. Now I can't make more cogs, so I'm pretty sure it's just game over (excellent design there BTW, making the game reliant on consumables that you don't get back if a fight goes badly, so you can just find yourself in a dead end).

I won that fight without using cogs. They're not required.
I'm also pretty sure you can buy them from several different merchants, some of which don't run out of time. Even if you couldn't, i can still give advice unrelated to cogs.

Keep in mind the Crypt is an entirely optional area intended as an extra challenge.

I didn't find the block puzzles that hard. Just hard enough to be interesting. I havent gotten the good ending yet but I did get the clock part from the boss in the crypt if that is who you are talking about. My advice (for any tough boss) would be to keep practicing fighting him without any cogs, and if you feel like you are almost good enough to beat him then start using cogs on your next attempts

also you can copy your save, so if you do end up farming a bunch of defense cogs back up, copy your save before you blow them all
