This is great, the game really needed some sort of transportation system, especially for the bigger maps.

oh no, I don't like this at all, the quaint beavertowns are transforming into efficiency cubes with highways. Late game will now look the same no matter what map is being played.

was looking forward much more to new beaver types, new challenging terrain to overcome in different ways depending on the chosen beaverfolk, more underwater features etc.

This "creative mode" will kill the game for me and I hope both features can be turned off before starting a map.

Just gotta be smart about it, with the new terrain system you can just hide all the tubes underground.

Loving the 3d terrain, makes underground maps so much easier!
I hope the tubeways can get fashioned for both factions.

Building caves and a transit system is so cool! Maybe a small addition (with big consequences) to the caves.
If a building has a chimney, there has to be an open path to the air. So the beavers will not get sick from the smoke..

Can't wait to test this !

Let's hope it doesn't lower performance though, because that's been a problem lately.

3D Terrain can be really game changing if executed right. Really hope Devs will introduce option to dig horizontally (dungeon keeper style) so we can create underground passages.
This is also rare opportunity to introduce 3rd faction of underground beavers :)
Underground deposits of "something" is also an idea.

Regarding "3D farming" I also think that plants by default should require sunlight to grow. But this being a single player sandbox game why not just give a checkbox during new game setup. Of course there is also "do not build it if You don't like it" option :)

I like that tubeways will auto adjust when building new segments. I really think something like that should be introduced to power shafts at this point. Since we got vertical ones i see no reason to not have such functionality. Option to "upgrade" old shaft segment without demolishing it also would be nice.

Does tubes are one-way or two-way ? End stations seem to have seven ports for connecting tubes. Making them one-way and require to lay 2 tubes for two-way travel. This could introduce interesting build challenges and make it something more than just "fast pathway".

As for faction differences, Iron end stations could be smaller (2x2) and with solid roof making it more space efficient. Maybe also add "air compressor" building which would need to be connected to the network to make it work. Each compressor could supply X amount of tube segments.
Folktails one could use some kind of oil or other "lube" ^^ to make them travel even faster.

I hope there will be some kind of "encased" tubeway block so we can lay tube in a watertight way throu dam or water reservoir wall.

This is absolutely AWESOME ♥
Wondering though if for farming there will be a thing about too much shade/lack of light making it impossible to grow stuff (akin to lack of water) in case it gets too OP 😉

As for possible different travel systems, could do little rockets for Ironteeth? (making them need fuel) and could do water tubes for folktails with strong currents (needing power and water from a base station)

The tubeways look amazing, and I love the idea of getting to build terrain over buildings. However, there should be a more complicated way of doing it other than just plopping soil on top of buildings.

I know dirt is a bit more late game, but at least make us have impermeable floors underneath the soil or something.

Amazing job, as always, though ;)

Yay beaver subway!

It looks amazing ! As everyone I'm looking forward to putting my hands on these features. Anyway it makes one problem more accurate : dirt is the only resource that is not infinite in Timberborn and only considering mud bath already consumes a HUGE amount of dirt in long time games, I can't imagine I can get enough dirt with excavators as they are now 😕 Maybe a mud excavator in rivers could make dirt an infinite resource like all the others (water, logs, food, scrap metal, RCE's poo water)

Damn, struggling with the contest maps due to the limitations of terrain, and now you drop this banger of a teaser for the next update?!? :D

Damn, if you do another contest when this drops, that is gonna be a game-changer for possibilities!

Man this has come a long way from the early days!

The tubes look great but I feel like (and this may be too complex) they should involve water somehow? Like perhaps you need to put water in one end and speed at which you do then affects the speed of the tubes (and on the other end you need to deal with the water, unless you make a loop maybe). Although I guess if you do all that work you may as well also just put in water pipes and I'm not sure if that's the vibe you want to go for. You could also make them a bit bigger and open and have little boats for your beavers to sit in, like a log flume in an amusement park. Like don't get me wrong they'll work fine as is, but I don't know this is a game about water it would be on-theme to include water here.

I don't know how I will use 3d terrain, but OH MY GOD TUBEWAYS ARE SO FREAKING USEFUL.
