Simple Gate Automation based on Cycle type
I enjoy the bad tide events and it adds a layer of strategy, but I am ready to turn them off just do to the annoyance of flipping the gates to change flow directions to protect water/resources. It gets repetitive. There should be an option to just select gate height for each type of cycle. Probably a mod for this already....

Yes there is an excellent mod, Simple Floodgate Triggers. It's not simple at all, you can do wonders with it.
There is also the mod Automation, where you can switch on/off buildings annd open/close floodgates based on the season.
They are both excellent, and they should be in the base game IMO. I can't play without.

I agree with you, but want to mention my "workaround." I either cut my water flow areas in half or just create a new water area of my own, and use the water pump (the one that takes power rather than a beaver) and set it to only pump good water. Then I just move good water into the places I want it and the badwater doesn't get pumped in so it stays away from my crops/trees.

The mod is amazing that QueenPixxa recommended, I've seen those setups but honestly, that mod takes all the tasks away as you build up and allows everything to function based on season. I can't play without it now lol
