suggestion: flooding
I really like the badtides, it expands what you need to do to manage the waters, which is the main draw for this game. Now that the game has stepped away from the simple wet and dry seasons to a more complex climate system, I would suggest a fourth season type: floodtide. During floodtide all water sources produce twice the normal amount of water, causing the floodplanes around rivers to flood, since this is where we build our settlement and farms, this should lead to an appropriate challenge.

You could also make the amount of water during a flood dependent on difficulty level, or have easy mode not include badwater sources in a flood. In any case I would love to see something like that. Flooding is the main risk of living near a river after all. So in a game about watermanagement it should be included.

yes +1 to water AND badwater floods. id also like to see other natural disasters that damage dams forcing beavers to repair them (this may make some people have to rethink how they build)

Could call it the Monsoon season, where heavy rains cause areas to flood.
Flooding already happens: just build stupidly.

I would love this, great idea. I'm always looking for more challenges on hard mode, especially by mid game.

This is not first time some one suggest flooding. It sounds great, but some users pointed out that it would not change gameplay much.
1. You already have way to put water away for badtide.
2. With current water implementation, water can flow pretty quickly, so you would not have flood, but fast water. On my current map, I am running water through 2 floodgate set to 2.5, so gamplay change for me would be set it to 2.0 ?

Dont take me wrong, flooding sounds thematically and logical in water game. But there must be more effects that player could play with it to be interesting.
