Timberborn

Power and zipline traces
I am about to dynamite 1-wide trenches in my central district, to run both power and tubes underground.
I decided to have them run underneath the main roads, one below the other, but I can't decide which of the 2 should go deeper.
Both power and tube will have to surface in a few strategic points, and maybe it would make more sense to put power lines on the higher level since in every block I will need access to power, but the same goes for the tubeway, which will have to connect to stations.

How do you do it in your colony? Do you have a different strategy?
I went looking for screenshots to find ideas and inspiration but I found next to nothing.

Iron teeth player. I did the tube and just removed the road on the first level. I have it build on an over hang so it rarely touches the ground other then where the offload point is. The tubes are under the platforms I have on the overhang. So its built underground in a way. I have power ran next to it. I am working on seeing if I can power building by connecting power to the bottom of them. All of this is for bottom of the map can be used completely for farming. 2nd level for storage and the 3rd level for manufacturing. I am trying to work in a 4th level with water canal and have farming on it There is so much to test out and so little time.
The way I utilise tubes and power connections, latter ones tend to spread out way more while tubes will mostly run between key strategic points. I also redo power way more often than tubes. So at least for me, it would make more sense to put tubes below power connections.

Oh, also: Tube stations can be connected from below. Good to know if you are really into optimising available surface area.
The tubes connecting from below is good information. I found it out by mistake when I was trying to put a station on level level. I wonder if there is a way to connection power from below also.

It does work on some buildings. Not sure if that is a universal thing, though.

If you exit the terrain with a straight up power shaft, factories will get the power. There are some buildings that need careful positioning, though: in the case of centrifuges and 3x3 food factories, you need to imagine the power running like a cross, so you can't have the vertical shaft touch a "dead" corner. IT Flying amenity works in the same way, the power runs in a cross. I am bad at explaining, but it's a very intuitive principle.

Would you please share some screenshots of your setup? I'm not sure I understood perfectly what you meant, but it seems interesting.

I too move power around, while tubeways, once laid out well, don't need moving. And the tube staton getting the tubes from below is great, thank you for letting us know.

Thinking of trying this in the early game without dynamite. I think I'll raise the towns one layer with platforms, and levees if needed near water.

Also, just saw a Youtube video that shows how to use the overhang pieces to stack things higher.

Probably similar to what Stanley said above plus adding 1 or 2 layers for power and tubeways.

I fear a screen shot of the setup would not be able to show what I have done without making one of every layer. I do 3 6x1 overhang on top of each other to make a 15x1 overhang. since 15 is the max limit of how far water can, well, water plants. on top of the 6x1 overhang I put I put a 3 high platform for the first one a 2 high for the 2nd one and a 1 high for the last one (except for the areas I am going to run my power and tubes those will be just single high platforms) then I run the tubes under the floor to the station. to make the hole (which I learned is not needed) I just do not have the 1 high platform. for power I used to have it as a one high platform above the roads and I would have something like the food processor to connect a cross power to. That would allow me to power a lane of factories. Now I am going to try to run the power under the factories and see how that turns out. If I didnt make any sense I will try to take some pictures
