How many Deep Mechanical Fluid Pump are needed for an artificial river flow?
Finally got to a stable point on hard difficulty and wanted to make an artificial river for power production, but unsure how many of the Deep Mechanical Fluid Pumps I needed to account for to get the most power out of my Power Wheels.

I made artificial power using bad water for the folk tails, needed about 20 wheels and 3 pumps going round in a square with a small overflow for excess bad water to drain away. Think it needed 4 fluid pumps to keep it topped up
Anything less than 3 water pumps and the power output didn’t cover the pump power requirement
The biggest problem you will face is the power requirement to make the pumps work.

Perpetual motion machines huh?

Honestly I am beginning to dabble in Deep Mechanical Fluid Pumps myself wish me luck.

Really the screenshot was supposed to embody "I need HOW!? many pumps for hard difficulty!?" but I'm also in the process of trying to build a reservoir from the river.

I supposed 4 pumps off the main reservoir could power some water wheels? Interesting but starts taking up alot of space.

Hadn't started building the reservoir yet. Its going to be 7 high off the river.

If my calculations are correct I'd need 11 wheels to keep the pumps going with additional wheels being used for the factory. Is this correct? Each pump produces 0.5 cms down a 1 tile canal, so 4 to get 1.0cms down a 2-wide canal. This should keep each wheel at around 270 power.

if at all possible just make the water go up naturally at the water source. you can do that even if the water source is touching the map edge.

thats what I built, not sure on the calcs, 1/2 way round it drops down 1 level to allow the badwater flow to be deposited back into a small pool which is where the 3 pumps are drawing the fluid up from

I needed endless power as the settings i use can result in 50 day droughts and wind for folktails is to unreliable

Just build mass gravity batteries.

Gravity batteries and windmills have given me consistent enough power.

Deep mechanical fluid pumps are the ironteeth ones, right? Do you only want a perpetual motion setup? Because there's an ironteeth building that allows you to have constant badwater flow without needing power

The pumps are available for both factions with some differences in depth reach. Ironteeth is 8 whereas folktail is 5
When I play ironteeth I take full advantage of the badwater dome which allows flow during drought but folktails can only pump bad water during a drought so a new solution was needed. 😁

I know the pumps are available for both factions. I was using the deep part to guess they're playing as ironteeth
