Timberborn

Beavers loosing the will to live , no idea why.
So iv run into an issue that i have no idea how to fix, for reference my current town has a population of around 1300 beavers ( plus 200~ kits) and 500 Bots on the Ironteeth side, I have rebuilt the town to mostly be a large grid with everything connected via tubes and nothing is more than 30 away from a tube entrance, with the vast majority of my space being fields i have food reserves in the 70K mark ( berry's, cassava, Corn and kohlrabi ) , my water supply is near the centre of the map and i keep 45K on reserve as well . with resources like this there shouldn't be any problems...... But

every day i seem to lose 10-20 beavers to starvation or thirst , on the off chance i can get to a body before it despawns it has several in the red and seems like they had just forgot to consume food as they would be in random areas.

today as I was getting annoyed by this i took the time to fully pause the game and go through the beaver list and after some looking found a starving beaver, he was inside a medium water silo so i focused on him and set the game rolling again, for half a day he was inside the silo slowly withering away until i decided to test and demolish it completely , not only did this free the beaver but there were 30 other beavers as well most in a state of a lot of red bars.

Has any one encountered anything like this where they seem to just forget about eating and die on the paths despite the town having literally tons of food/water or getting stuck inside buildings?

Delete the silo and build it anew. It's a bug.

By silo do you mean a modded structure or the base game water tanks?

It happens with the biggest base game water tank if a) it’s the water source next to a residential complex and b) it’s a colony over (I think) 700 beavers. Since they need a fraction of a second to get their water while being ‚in‘ the water tank, they got stuck there.

I have the storage mod installed, I‘m not sure this contributes to the problem. However, it never happens with these modded structures, only with the biggest water tank the base game provides.

there is a mod like: free stuck beavers - maybe this helps

If you have a save with beavers getting stuck or not fulfilling their basic needs, could you send us your saves at logs@mechanistry.com by following this guide, so we can investigate? https://steamcommunity.com/app/1062090/discussions/2/3110269213859735252
