At one time, a few years ago now, there was a demo. You could play a couple of cycles and maybe a third of the buildings, and it gave you a good feel for the game. When the game went into EA, the demo went offline.

This is a great game. I have over 850 hours on it. There is much to do, it is very engaging, and in my humble opinion, it is a better game in EA then many games I've purchased after full release.

If you are curious, purchase the game. Play it for less than two hours. At that time you can continue to play, or request a refund from Steam. Honestly, I don't think you'll be disappointed.

Hey yea Thanks for replying. You are right tho :)
There are plenty of gameplay videos on youtube; at least I am fairly certain. Also, if you buy it, and play it for less than 2 hours, and find you don't like it for whatever reason, you can get your money back (Steam policy). It takes 24-48 hours to get the money back, but it's sort of like a demo, but with money on the hook.

I agree with bcrehore; it is a great game, and I have a similar expenditure of hours played; I am edging up to 1000 if I recall. If you like a somewhat relaxed-pace city builder ( at least relaxed once you "stabilize the settlement"), where you control the lives and fates of a colony of beavers, then this is for you.

It is a sandbox though, centered around controlling the water on the map; so obviously that mean dams, levees and that sort of thing to make sure you keep enough water on hand so your beavers don't die during the droughts, or during the badwater cycles. However, you can also build just about anything you can imagine; from residential towers, to stepped terraced farming, or even create your own maps to work with.
