Why robots?
Why should I build robots, when beavers can do all the work?

they can work 24/7 i put them on jobs like building or harvest
some jobs like the mines or excavator are very dangerous for beavers and cause a lot of injuries.

one of the ways to deal with the injuries is to use bots that can't be injured.

Oh, that explains why I have to spam these hospital beds!
Robots are also far more efficient than beavers even though Beavers can hit levels of 260% efficiency?..

Robots can work 24/7 minus that 1hr it takes for them to recharge/refuel so even if they work 170% efficiency they get 162% efficiency.

Most of the time your beavers will be working 14hrs days at 260% efficiency minus the 2hrs they usually spend on food/water.

Beavers generally come out at around 151% efficiency.

That's why...

Your entire settlement will be injured if you like to use lots of explosives, metal, or dirt blocks because having beavers at all these related mid to late game items will lead to serious injury rates.

Plus they operate around the clock for the most part, and much faster early to mid game. Personally prefer folktail's bots even though I now prefer playing ironteeth more. Covering the map in control towers can get unsightly.

Got to love a beaverbot!

In addition to the above comments beaverbots don’t require too much to maintain them. No water consumption, depending on the faction no/low food consumption

They can be a life saver when you want to expand your colony when playing hard mode because of the above.

Get your bots making bots ;) (Star Wars quote in there somewhere)

Also you can then reduce the beavers work hours once your beaverbot workforce is up and running, which should improve beaver happiness and making them work faster on the simple jobs, farming, pumping water etc
I like to get bots up and running and then ditch the beavers entirely. That allows me to eliminate farms and all the things that are needed to keep beavers happy.

Beavers demand more relaxation time in the late game. They have tons of ways to play and limited time to do it. Bots don't care about play time so they can keep going.

Folktail robots are a much bigger boost than irontooth robots. IT robots need to sleep and recharge. Folktail robots run to a nearby gas station and they're good for another day.

It's possible to keep the iron teeth beavers maxed out on well being while still working them 14-15 hours a day though with the right tubeway setup, because they move so fast they can get places fast. One of the advantages, but yeah, iron teeth bots suffer downtime charging and require spamming control towers... but man do I prefer badwater discharges and water wheels over having to spam a bunch of gravity batteries. Both are fun.

Their downtime is the same. Ironteeth spend time in a recharger, sure, but they only need to get grease. Folktails spend time running for Fuel, Catalyst and Punchcards.

Is there a description in the game, which jobs are dangerous for normal beavers?

Not that I am aware of

Most building which require power to work will probably have some kind of injury possibility attached to them

Another way to look at it, does the job have risk?

Pumping water, farming, tapping sap, forester, nothing can go wrong with these jobs, the beavers are just using simple tools where as working in a lumber mill, blacksmith or with Bad water will have some risk of a beaver losing a paw, getting a tail cut off etc (I have not worded this well but i hope you get the point) :)

wait thats cool though... maybe keep one small family of beavers in an enclosure where they cant get out or something ^^

It's in the wiki:

Iron Teeth Bots are not affected by bad water and they do not eat or drink. They only need power to recharge. grease make them more efficient but not needed. So bots (Tails or Teeth) can build/swim/walk through bad water no penalty.

I don't usually use Folktail bots for RPG purposes as they are more nature friendly in their approach.

I've done a few Teeth maps with no bots.
in the end just a matter of choice.

Beaver and Bot or just Beavers and if you let the Beaver population die off (with Teeth just turn off all the pods and they all die of old age eventually) you can get just Bots, which means all the food production means nothing but.....choice is the real thing.

It is a creative building game not a competitive beat the level RTS.
