Timberborn

Timberborn

A small suggestion:-
More feedback really, maybe don't let people build buildings underwater, if that building needs to be above water. Spent ages building a centrifuge underwater (first time I'd built one, and since the game let me build it fully in the water, I did. They *are* beavers, after all) then the games was all, haha the entrance is flooded.

Cheers,

One big issue with your request is this: How should the game know whether the entrance WILL STILL BE FLOODED when the construction is complete? What if parallel to the construction of the centrifuge, you were also building a wall next to it that will redirect water away, thus drying up the entrance?

Conversely, should the game evaluate whether the entrance will become flooded AFTER you finish construction? It's part of the fun when players build something, and then screw up somewhere else and a big wave comes and floods their precious buildings :-)

The rule is super simple: IF the entrance tile is NOT flooded, the building is operational. This by the way means you can place the Numbercruncher in water, fully submerged, and it will happily crunch away -- because it doesn't have any entrance. :-)

I guess the point I'm making is this:- if the entrance needs to be above water, don't wait until the construction is finished before pointing it out? Like, stick it in a tooltip or something?

EVERY entrance needs to be non-flooded.

No real reason for it to be buildable underwater then!

game is kinda designed around flooding.

the furthest i'd go with this is make the building appear yellow instead of green when trying to place it (if that isn't already the case.)

but hey, i did it with aquatic farmhouse the first time around too.
