Timberborn

Timberborn

What is new?
I used to play a lot, but I took a loong break. (since November 2023, according to steam). I remember the lastest new update I played with, was the bad water. So what are the most important changes since then? And do the 1 tile water dump thing, still work?

Check it out and find out. ;-)

Most significant changes could be the change of the irrigation system (your mentioned dump doesn't work anymore that way) and the new "3D terrain" allowing constructions underground. Being forced to use districts was already removed back then, right?

Yeah, don't know what changes could be relevant for you, so as you have the game anyway ... just find out?

This person expects us to list all the changes from 100+ updates that have been implemented in the past 18+ months when all of it is already freely available via their library... Pure laziness.

I do NOT expect to list all changes. Just the most major. Wich is why I wrote the most important. Maybee focus on increasing your reading comprehension.

After U5 (badwater)
there was U6 with 3 dimensional water
Wonders were introduced in U6 -highest building cost by far
unlocks statistic and is win condition. (you can still play after)
sluises: automate your water systems in its settings. floodgates still exist too
map editor: Natural overhangs. cant build ingame but can put buildings on. dismantle like blockage.

U7 made ground 3-dimensional too.
you can mine sideways into it and place it yourself in 3-dimensions .
quick-transport option for both factions. travel even on big maps easy and fast.

may have missed things. but most important ones
3D-ground and water.(river can flow over river/aqueducts +caves)
Wonder
sluises: open and close automaticly in badwater if set up right
and advanced travel buildings

Wow, this game have changed a lot. I can see those changes totally change how you plan and develop your city. Thanks for the info. That was the sort of comment I was hoping for. Appriciate it.
recommend watching U6Wonders of water and U7 timberborn trailer

Wonders are just buildings with extra high building costs, nothing special.

Sluices have already been part of the bad water, haven't they? That's why I didn't mention them.

3D terrain was already mentioned by me, did you really need Arcadaeus explanation first to get an idea of the new possibilities?

Yes, I didn't understand the 3D thing. I figured the game was already in 3D. So I had no clue what you was talking about. Beeing forced to use districts was removed, but the only underground thing I remember is that the folktails had an underground storage.

that isn't completely true, if you beat the map once, you can then change the location of the starting location without destroying it. making the starting more challenging or easier.
