20 work hours. Leisure is for later. They will absolutely stop work to eat and drink. Something else is wrong. its probably something wierd you've done, which is why people are asking for pics

The beavers were simply bugged they died out and the new ones that replaced them are doing just fine and drinking.

20 hours is rather a lot. I'd stick with the standard 16 until much later, once established. Down to 14 now and then is fine, with a big colony I got them down to 12.
My beavers seem to actively want to die horribly. I've got water, and I'm wondering "why is everyone still dehydrated?". One my save, I did have one die from thirst.

As long as they can get to their beds before sunrise, they will sleep in as long as they need to fill up their needs. It might seem harsh, but I usually dont do any leisure time until ive got about 100 beavers and enough entertainment options for it to really buff productivity.

@Puppy Cat Underfoot If theyre often dehydrated, do you have some tanks available close to the homes and busy workplaces?

So far I've only lost one beaver to thirst, all the rest have been old age. I have built a couple more water pumps and water barrels. There's a drought on the horizon, and I think my beavers will make it through with all the water they've stored.

I'm finding the same issue. Lots of pumps, but if a beaver is thirsty, they pump once and leave to stay dehydrated lol. Basically the only solution is never have a water shortage

do you think we will get to page 3 and still no pic? :steamfacepalm:

if its a bug, then you may need the save file to give to the devs so they can trace it out.

A shame as it's really good other than the beavers committing suicide rather than pump some water to drink xD
