This game is never gonna leave early access, is it?
Most successful titles that have used early access typical remained in early access for about one year before a full release. and this game is in year 3. sure there are exceptions, but this smells abandonware to me

just check the news section. it takes like 5 minutes to check how many months apart major updates happen and how regular they happen.

You must be new around here :steammocking:

Don't know what successfull games you are referring to but personally I prefer my escapist products well cooked and considered "ready for release" by the ones doing the developing. Talk again once they reached the ten year mark like Secrets of Grindea which just released and is epic.
7 days to die was in early access for almost 12 years.

Perhaps I prefer a game with more crunch behind the scenes. I typically do not like FPS.
I cannot think of a single EA that I participated in which wrapped up in a year.

I am old enough to remember getting my mineceaft beta key for 10$

I don't particularly care how long early access is so long as there is positive progression and refinement of the game's design and systems.

So far Mechanistry has a pretty consistent track record in delivering on that. Even if the game was pushed into full release right now, I'll have gotten my money's worth out of it and would consider them to have delivered on making a fun sandbox game.

There's also a few EA games that clearly peak during their EA period and release in a complete state, but then don't generate any DLC/expansions because what would have been them just got rolled into the EA phase of development and it just kept on rolling.

It can also happen because the game peaks during EA and the money gets used up on continued development. So after the game goes gold and leaves EA there's no massive spike of sales to generate lots more re-investment revenue.

Or the prolonged development (EA games can sometimes take way way longer to complete. Either a factor of them needing money to complete or just adding more and more when they get healthy income) can also mean the team burns out and wants to move on to other games/development ideas.

Smells like a troll to me, I think the best way to handle it would be to block the unfortunate person who doesn't detect their own wretch.

And more importantly to not engage with it.

Well, improvemnts are made at a ninimal snailpace, the games sold enough to validate hireing more staff to finish it faster. But if your happy with the game progressing at the pace it is have fun with it, Im just tired of waiting for a finished product that will never be done.

Sometimes you can't just "hire more staff to go faster" with projects. New staff have to be brought up to speed and get trained on the games code and so forth. Which takes time and money; plus there's the issue of sometimes just not needing more content but improving the core code and that might be down to very few staff where its not easy to just speed things up by adding more.

I always think one of the best examples of this is to read the Factorio blog posts on their website. It really goes into detail in an understandable way about how what can appear like a really simple thing to add to a game; is actually really complicated in the code and how small things add up to huge amounts of work to change.

then don't? remove it from wishlist and search history and move on with your life.

or just buy it for what it is right now, play a game or two and then don't look at it again for a year or two.

Oh I aint, Im just criticising the the missmanagement. In order for things to improve, one must sometimes critic the things. I made no verbal assault on you or others that like the game as is, in fact I do it so that the game might improve for you who play it. Rage againt the truth does not change it.

Actually sometimes I forget this game is on EA. I just have fun with it the way it is.
