So limiting huts is for now the easiest solution.
In other words, the more populated huts you have, the faster new beavers can be born. If population is an issue, start with only 2 huts so the growth is limited by 2 child beavers at the same time. If you feel you can handle a little more intake, build an extra hut.
No home - no children. As simple as that.
Building a fireplace will make your beavers happy and horny. I tried it this route by destroying the fire place, but it didnt really slow down the boom.
Another solution is to increase working hours. It should work just like in RL - if the beavers work 2 shifts a day, they wont have time for family. Havent tried it myself.
Just a tip from someone who played dwarf fortress:
The easiest way to get rid of overpopulation is plant carrots and close the farm. You will run out of food supply and the population start dingling. As soon you reach a comfortable level, reopen the farm. The beavers can instantly collect all the carrots you have planeted to end hunger, so no more deaths.
but i guess they have a lot of fur to keep them warm
thanks for the solution
it's not silly ... you put animals of both sex in a warm cozy place together what's gonna happen? the complaint is equally silly.
Honestly this forum is showing some bizarre "complaints" about things that are common sense for the fact these are animals ... yet everyone is praising the fact they are animals.
the need to keep their horniness under control puts severe strain on the city feel of the city you build in this city builder
