Help! 1 district is overflowing with logs, while the other are waiting for ages
How can I help this? Do I need more haulers or District crossings?

Do workers at district crossing only move things between the crossing and the districts stockpile? And haulers only between workers and stockpile?

Thank you!

Let's say District 1 is the one with the logs, District 2 is the one that wants them. District Crossing workers on District 1 side should be taking logs to the Crossing, from where workers on the District 2 side will take them away to proper storage (if there's no storage they will just keep it in the Crossing, since Logs are set to import always by default). This works both sides of course.

Did you change any of the settings, like changing the Logs export threshold to 100% in District 1? That would basically turn off export of the Logs.
Can you post a screenshot of your Distribution panel?

It also helps putting log storage on both sides of the district crossing. The source side should be demanding logs, and the receiving side should be set to supply. This will decrease the number of beavers required in the crossing, but requires slightly more hauling posts beavers.
Thanks, I think the process is also slowed, by the fact that District 1 is connected to District 2 via another 2 districts, so I will try optimizing with the storages as suggeted

It's kinda hard to know exactly what the problem is without a screenie.

BUT, district crossings are bottle necked on capacity at the storage level. They can only transport 30 units of anything at one time, max. Depending on what you're moving it's 2-3 beavers at a time (eg, water, they can carry 14 units at a time). For logs specifically it's 7 to 8 beavers worth (how many it takes to carry it all at once).

So how much a district crossings transport capacity is dependant on how many trips can be made in a single day. Your settings are also going to affect this, since if you prioritize certain goods, other will be neglected.

Basically, what I'm saying is you most likely need more district crossings. Don't rely on haulers to help them. You'll just waste your population and food on useless carriers (in this particular case). The faster you want the to transport that stuff, the more district crossings you will need (and beavers working it >.> ).

Add log stockpiles, set to "accept", in the 2 intermediary districts, and also on the receiving district. The bigger the stockpiles, the higher the bandwidth.

Adding multiple district crossings between the same 2 districts also increase the bandwidth.

thats not what hes talking about. i have the same issue and while you are mostly right they are keeping abnormal amounts of logs in some districts regardless of storage. there is some sort of issue with it.

the way i "fixed it" was turning off the importing but more importantly i increased the storage and doubled the district crossing posts per border. the importanting stops it from trying to fill the storage and helps it flow out. im actually here because i was noticing it was kinda a problem and im trying to see if anyone else is talking about it.

"Did you change any of the settings, like changing the Logs export threshold to 100% in District 1?" - i didnt even know you could do this for example. thats the thing i havent looked at clearly enough
