I hope there is a better way in installing roofs. Creating platforms just to reach the top of structures is just too tedious. The houses of ironteeth that is 4 levels high requires higher platforms to just be deleted once i install the roofs.

I was thinking,
There could be a special interaction in building for specifically roofs.
Make the reach of builders in installing roof specifically farther, to at least reduce some platform building.
Installing roofs on a structure that can be occupied by beavers can be easily roofed, like large storage, high habitats, and the 3 level platforms.

A core principle of the game is vertical building (stuff on top of stuff). It is basically assumed that you will be building staircases with which beavers can reach each floor of such 'complex'. If you do that, then adding those few platforms and stairs to be able to plop a roof on top of your complex is no big deal.
The narrow housing of IronTooth is intended to fit into tiny gaps somewhere, so presumably, there is either a terrain or another building next to it, from which you should be able to reach the 'roof construction site'.

I got a screen shot of Exp Craters map up, Every road has a roof, every building has a roof, 300 beavers.. It takes time and skill to place rooftops, make sure you are done going up before you place them.. I think the way the game forces you to build and destroy to just put the icing on the cake is rather ez and makes it part of the game. I hope they do not take this part out.. My opinion.

Also, keep in mind that roofs have a 1 tile 'shine' around them, meaning they affect things on neighboring tiles, not just below them. So if you want house inhabitants to benefit from a roof, you can just build the tiniest 1x1 roof on a single platform above the entrance, and that will be enough.

I just think it will add a bit more quality of life and could add flavor. It's the little mechanics that feels good, its not going to change the whole dynamics of the game that much with such change. Its subjective i guess

Like Alcator said : You may put 3 small platforms between 2 Houses of Ironteeths with little roof or flowers or statue , that's works well ...
