I'm holding out hope that the devs will implement mod support within the game as they near v1.0 release, bypassing the need for third-party hacks.
@lya505, nothing wrong with being cautious, so long as it's based on reasoned thought, paranoia tends to verge into the territory of unreasoned fear, which tends to be less helpful in life.
If you are still worried, then disable the internet while you play, as the only way to get a virus onto your PC if it is not already part of the mod, is for the mod to download it from the internet.
TL;DR There is always a risk when you install any executable program, but Timberborn mods can be decompiled to check if they do anything evil, so if you are worried enough, just do that.
Watch out for PDF's though and everything in your email.
If you're getting your mods from torrents, you're doing it wrong. Most of them are on github if you really want to see the inside.
