You can always use the "Edit map" option, load the map in the editor, save it under a new (or same name).
Also, double check that you did not accidentally put it into the "Experimental" subfolder if you've ever been on the experimental branch.
I checked the file several times - it is a timber file.
The folder is also correct. You can browse the correct folder from within the game, this leads me to the exact same folder.
I cannot open the maps in the editor. Otherwise, this would have been my preferred solution.
:-(
Cheers guys.
Top of the listing of each map, there should be an unassuming clickable text - filename.
Example: https://timberbornmaps.com/index.php?action=downloads;sa=view;down=249
Just below the title "Babylon", there is "Babylon.timber" (clickable) -- that's the download link.
1. Roll back the version of Timberborn under >>properties >>betas in Steam to "old-0.2 - Old Version 0.2"
2. Start the game and open editor.
3. Load the JSON-file of the desired map.
4. Save under a different name. For example with the prefix "new_".
5. Repeat for every map you want.
6. Get back to actual version.
7. Verify your new map in editor.
8. Have fun
