It can be tough sometimes but you CAN select the bars that line the path to delete just the path parts even with the group select tool.

yea i just did that, exactly and it killed the platforms under

spent last 10 hours doing this, got rid of the bowl effect and now im filling it with tripple platform, then gonna do a 2nd level tripple platform and have this whole basin as my 6 deep water pool with village on top. so i need to do lots and lots of platform path removal

Touching on the city on platform idea, i build wood platforms just above my main water lake, then place a 1high platform above. I use the middle space for my power transferring type logs, keeps them out of the way and keeps things looking nice. Perfect use for the height change power part.

I havent tried to see if the logs still transfer power while submerged, if they do (and im almost certin they do) thinking of making the platfor they sit on just under water level instead of just ontop, though i like the elevated look

yes they do, on a different map, i leveled out the ground to 1 level of dirt for the range of the entire district, and blow up grid lines 2 deep for the water to flow threw making it all green ground, with the grid spacing = to the box size of a honey come bee thing. and then filled it with 2 high platforms that had all my roads

The trick is to look at what is getting highlighted when you are selecting. If you are doing it right only the little lines that indicate the path will be highlighted. Its a subtle effect but that is what you are looking for. If anything else is getting highlighted, which is definitely not subtle, then you are doing it wrong.

had a similar problem, i used the elevation tool to go to the floor of the path and was able to select all the path without selecting the platforms underneath
