Valve Index Headset

Valve Index Headset

Pixel Flashing on my Valve Index
So when I play on the headset I always see coloured flashing pixels and hear popping noises. This guy here is experiencing the exact same thing, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=15cRLqlvU3A.

Is there a way to fix this or at least control it a little? I kinda already know that the answer is 'there isn't, its dead' but I still wanna ask you guys about it rather than jump to conclusions, it's five hundred pounds.

Thanks!

Cable degradation.

Index uses "Link Training" to mitigate signal loss...as the cable degrades, pixel flashing becomes more obvious (and eventually audio pops/clicks start happening, as well).

There is a relevant SteamVR setting in the Video/DisplayPort section, but my guess is that it's already set to Auto and won't get much better than that.

. . . . Try one of the compatibility modes. (*I'm using SteamVR Beta)

Buy a new tether/cable.

Actually, the Link Training compatibility modes can have great affect (sometimes this varies session to session).

I'm using SteamVR Beta, maybe it's different than main release (maybe this is why it's always changing, even in Auto).
