I finally got my hands on a index but the screen is very dim on my pc. I tried it on a friends pc and the screen's brightness is normal/ very bright. Does anyone know why that is?

As a Valve Index guy who got a Quest 3 recently, I love VR. I still love and use both headsets btw. And I really want a Valve Deckard. But to be realistic, it probably is not coming anytime soon, because the Valve Deckard is likely to run on some type of Linux operating system (either a SteamOS console streaming wirelessly to the Deckard, or a standalone Deckard VR console like the Quest 3). I saw the coverage and it seems valve abandoned that..... I hope I can just upgrade the headset and keep the rest of the hardware working as it is.

Bought this just over 2 years ago and kept very good care of it. Proper cable management, a mount to hold it when I put it away... everything. I was sitting on my computer working on Unity engine with SteamVR running when I heard a loud pop... it was from the index. The headset must've shorted or something but now it is littered with dead pixels and unfortunately the warranty is up so Valve simply said 'tough luck'.
