VR movies that use depth technology, do have depth.
Some kinds of depth may use a stereoscopic depth, some may be 3d, some may use other technologies.
Yes there is a good selection, you just need to go out and look for them.
Where do you go to get these?
Movies.
What it's actually like depends on multiple factors. Is it interesting, the tech used to make the movie, the format in which it's rendered etc etc.
They have depth but again, how much depth they have and how "virtual" they are depends on multiple factors (see next point). VR (when it comes to video) is a broad definition.
However, they're not like regular movies on a flat screen though you can watch regular movies on a giant virtual flat screen if you want. I quite enjoy watching the odd blockbuster in a virtual Imax cinema.
You can also watch movies that where released for 3DTV in VR and the 3D effect is far superior that it ever was at the cinema or watching on a 3DTV.
Yes and no. Really depends what you want to watch.
There are untold hours of VR videos out there for you to watch. Youtube is full of 360 and VR videos for example. As for the quality of content itself, you're not going to find many Hollywood blockbusters but there's some fun stuff. At best there's some experimental stuff from studios you can find but nothing that's a full length movie (that I've seen).
Sci fi wise I can only say I watched Tron Legacy and Dredd because I have the 3D disks but at the end of the day VR isnt really good for watching movies imo. You can do it (and sometimes I do) but VR and 3D movies are not a great fit for multiple factors.
