Start up procedure

What is the proper way to start up your index? I start Steam turn both base stations on then hit connect on my controllers and every time it comes up "headset disconnected. i hit reset headset and press connect on my controllers again and every thing connects. there must be a way to do it properly the first time.

I typically just double-click whatever VR game on Steam I want to run in my library, then put on my Valve Index, then turn on the Index controllers.

So your base stations are always powered on? Wouldnt that wear them out prematurely?

OK here is how to start you Valve Index set properly. Turn the base stations on (turn on at power point) Turn your PC on then start steam. Once STEAM has started turn your controllers on. It should launch in to STEAM Home. With hands showing.
