Side note. I have various headsets and I do currently use my quest 3 as a multi monitor portable setup for my MacBook to use for software development. I’m in the UK so haven’t been able to buy the AVP yet.
The Apple Vision Pro is OLED and much higher resolution, so it would be better for watching flatscreen movies on a large virtual theater and using it for typical non-gaming desktop computer stuff (probably). The colors would look really vibrant (because OLED), and the display image much sharper.
Again if you want to play games though (I'm guessing you do since you're on Steam), you should definitely not get the Apple Vision Pro.

The Index is old and they're gonna make a new one and hopefully lower its price and the Vision Pro is very much a first gen product, is very expensive and there'll be cheaper and more open alternatives from other companies soon enough.
