Index 2 anytime soon? Heard rumours about it.

Don't hold your breath lmao there's always rumors. I'm glad I got my Valve Index a few years ago or I'd have gone crazy waiting to get into VR. It was especially nice to have it during all that indoor time during the pandemic.

Has Valve ever even confirmed they are developing an Index 2? Or is this another thing like Half-Life 3 that might show up in like 30 years?

I think VR is about dead. Microsoft is ending support. I almost bought a G2 a month ago. So glad I didn't, but I am considering an index I still have a reverb g1 and am sick of the controllers. They worked ok a year or 2, but recently they are to worn and don't work well. I'm not sure if it's worth getting another VR headset at this point though. Hardly any new games in years.

Saying that how does the quest 3 compare to the index?

You could try looking at the videos of Sadlyitsbradley on YouTube if you want rumors/speculation on when the next VR headset from Valve is coming. He posts a lot of very interesting speculation, and has me convinced it's coming soon.

I ended up getting a Quest 3 after doing a bit of research. Index 2 may come at some point in the next year or two, but I am sure it will be pricey. I am very happy so far with the Quest. It was a decent upgrade over the Reverb being wireless and able to do 120hz, and it honestly has similar clarity.

Even if VR dies there is enough on it for now that I have things to do especially with VR mods on various flat games out now. We will see in a few years if things have improved or if it just fails.

LOL we just had the release of the Quest 3 and two new AAA VR exclusive games for it (Asgard's Wrath 2 and Assassin's Creed Nexus). Amazing people still think this.

In addition to the already fairly large catalog of AAA VR exclusive games on the Oculus store...

There was a patent from Valve which was something called "Deckard", which apparently has something to do with VR.

Whether it's an actual Index 2, nobody can tell you, and those who could tell you probably signed that they are not allowed to.
