Grey screen and camera flying around without me doing anything
Randomly whenever I'm playing a game, my screen will go grey and then come back with my camera flying around in some random place. Maybe clipping through the ground or a wall. After this the camera will go back to first person and everything will be fine. This is super annoying. Anyone know any causes/fixes?

Sounds like your lasers are being reflected.

Try to cover everything in your physical playroom with bed sheets, set up your digital from scratch and then see if that changed anything.

I do have a TV in the room, but I covered it and it didn't change anything. But I didn't set up my digital from scratch, even though I have to be honest. I don't know what setting up my digital from scratch means. Do you mean re setting up my base station or am I just being dumb?

I mean setting up your digital play area within SteamVR.

The setup where you use your controller around the edge of your physical play area in order to create a digital one.

If the base stations have moved even half an inch since you made your current play area or the lasers are reflected by a single point in your physical play area, those saved play area coordinates will be invalid and will cause both headset and controllers to lose their digital coordinates.

Oh. That probably explains it. I didn't even think about having to reset my play area after moving a base station. I'll try this out later today. Thanks for the information

If all else fails, check for EMI issues. I've had an issue with EVERY single headset i've owned that used lighthouse tracking. EVERY SINGLE TIME it was due to EMI. Simply touching any part of the headset caused the screen to go gray. Forever I thought it was a tracking issue, even spent money on new lighthouses. Valve has to know about this issue by now.

If you own a Direct Drive wheel it's a prime suspect, but not the only cause of EMI.
