Valve Index USB causing constant "Device Disconnect" sound
I have since resolved the issue, but if anyone else seems to have this issue, a simple reconnect of the disconnect before it splits into the 3 wires solved the problem.

Oooh it works! In a sea of useless tech advice and long convoluted post that goes nowhere you are a breath of fresh air! Thanks sooo much! Like the other said you just made my day!

Mine started doing the dumb today. Spent 1.5 hours trying to figure out what was causing it. Unplugged every USB and found out that it was the index doing it. Plugged it in again, and it started again. Found this thread which solved my problems instantly. Nixter is my hero.

this issue was happening to me for over a week and causing me so many problems including my system tray flashing, and my display settings dropdown boxes flickering preventing me from changing any settings. I spent tons of time googling the issue, looking/posting on Reddit, trying to fix system files and even updated to windows 11.

Found this and it was finally fixed. Thank you.

I have this issue, however I do not understand your solution. What am I re-connecting, could you provide more details on how to solve this?

the cable has a second breakaway connection about 2 feet off of the 3-way cables that go into your power source and computer. the black box looking thing along the cable with two arrows pointing at each-other. break that apart and back together.
