So I've been doing my research and i noticed that there is a 3rd cord I've never seen before so it got me wondering. What is that cord?(iK what a displayport is and the other one) and do i need another device to power said cord if so where do i find it? and does it plug into my displayport? also what happens if we don't have set plug in spot? Any help would be great because I'm buying one as of the first of october and need to know exactly what i need if anything extra is needed to power the valve index.

DP and USB go to your PC and one that plugs into a power outlet are the 3 that come off the headset. The cable that plugs into the wall has a breakaway plug that may be what you are thinking is different but everything you need comes in the box.
